In Tibetan, “Palyul Choekhor Ling” means the place where the wheel of the Buddha’s teachings is turned, or given. Palyul Choekhor Ling Nepali Buddhist Center (PCL) was established in 2018 in Erie, Pennsylvania and incorporated as a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)). This dharma center is located at 5000 Conrad Road, Erie, Pennsylvania, 16510. Our purpose is to serve as the practice center for the students of the Nyingma Palyul Tibetan buddhist tradition in the Erie area, as well as visitors to Erie from all around the world.

Established under the leadership of Tulku Dawa Gyalpo Rinpoche in accordance with the wishes of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, PCL was established as a Dharma center or temple of the Nyingma Palyul Tibetan buddhist tradition. Nyingma is one of the four sects of Buddhism in Tibet, and Palyul is one of the six main, largest monasteries of the Nyingma sect. In accordance with the wishes of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche—one of the greatest Nyingma masters of the 20th century and the previous throne holder of the Palyul lineage—the Palyul tradition has flourished all over the world through the establishment of Dharma centers such as PCL Erie.

The PCL temple promotes and preserves the study and practice of Dharma—particularly the teachings and rituals of the Nyingma Palyul tradition—with the vision of bringing peace, harmony, and happiness to all beings in this universe. We also strive to preserve Nepali art, culture and language.
